Jimmy matejek of Montgomery Gentry Talks Bolt Amps
High Praise from Johnny Hiland!
The Bolt is the best amp I have ever used. It is awesome in versatility, it looks great, it records so well, and it will blow your mind with the many great tones it offers.
- For example, when I use the clean tone section, with the voicing switch, I am able to get any, and every tone, I could possibly need. I can go from a super clean Fender Twin tone, to a broken up tone like a Dr. Z or Vox AC-30.
- It goes even beyond that in the second channel, which features more tube break-up. In the second channel, you can go from a harder driven Vox AC-30 to a Fender Super Reverb on 10, to a Bassman cranked all the way; simply based on how you set your gain and EQ settings. I like the second channel for the southern rock style, and when I use my slide.
- Jump on in to the third channel, and you can get a cool Fender-like overdriven sound, to a scooped mid heavy tone for heavy metal (likewith an old Randall). or you can go into Marshall land, with a full range of overdrive as well. The active button allows you to open up the EQ more, and you have the fullest range in sculpting the tone you needmore so than in any other amp I have ever played through.
- I use a pedal board through it, and it handles pedals very well.
- Plus, I recently just recorded my first album for Shrapnel Records called, “All Fired Up.” The Bolt had me all fired up, and I recorded this whole project from the direct out on the back of the amp. It is unbelievable!!!!!
I am like a kid getting his first, cool, amp, when I play on my Bolt. It happens every single time too, as the Bolt offers so many great tones. The Bolt Amp has changed my life, as a player, and I am very proud to be using it as my main tone machine!!!! –
