Wanted to hate it. But it turned out to be the most fantastic amp I've ever had and after 35 years of playing hard rock that says a lot. I've owned 100's of amps over the years from classics to boutiques and this thing realy does stand up to the top quality boutique stuff but does so much more.

- Features:
- Ubelievable feature set . 3 channels . Individual volume or gain boost for every channel .3 different reverbs .for each channel. Active or passive EQ for every channel. Two efects loops . 3 different voicings for each channel/British, American and class A . Also has a direct line out with speaker emulation that rivals micing a speaker cab. The direct out is fantastic . I would never have considered using a direct out to the board before I had this amp. When A/B ed using an SM 57 and speaker cab and the direct out .There is almost no difference. there is definately no need to mike this thing and sound men love that. It also makes for killer direct out recording device. There is nothing else on the market with the feature set of this amp. Period
- Sound Quality:
- Fantastic .Wanted to hate it. But it turned out to be the most fantastic amp I’ve ever had and after 35 years of playing hard rock that says a lot. I’ve owned 100′s of amps over the years from classics to boutiques and this thing realy does stand up to the top quality boutique stuff but does so much more. The cleans are exqusite .You can dial in any of your favorite fenders . Same with channel two. Any Marshall can be had here from vintage Plexi to super hot rodded JCM 800.Channel 3 has everything in it from high gain Marshall to super high gain American Tripple Rec . Its all in the active EQ . Scooped high gain with huge bass from hell or push the mids and get super high gain Marshall. Very cool and versatile amp that does not leave me wanting my vintage and boutique stuff . And it can do all this beautifully at any volume. I’m extremely impressed with this new company . They’ve scored a home run with this amp. They are ugly and have a goofy name but don’t let that hold you back from possibly getting one of the best amps on the market. I was extremely skeptical of this thing because I hate anything with DSP in it . I’m an old school tubes only guy. So I didn’t realy expect this thing to live up to its claims. It did live up to its claims and more . No more need for multiple amps and pedals .This baby can cover all the ground you will ever need.
- Reliability/Durability:
- These are built in the USA ( Salt lake city Utah) and appear to be very solid units. I’ve had mine 8 months now and so far so good .Not a single glitch.
- Ease of Use:
- Works just like any amp .Very simple and straight forward
- Overal Rating: 5
- Fantastic amp with top notch boutique quality in both build and sound. The only piece of music gear with DSP that I have ever liked. They got the combination of digital and tubes right on this amp .Its touch sensitive ,cleans up beautifully when you roll off the volume on your guitar and feels like your favorite boutique amp in every way. It can be tweaked to sound like any amp on the market. The versatility is staggering and the fact that it can do all this without sacrificing tone is just amazing .Its all I use and all I need now .
We are always stoked to see such excitement from Bolt Amp Users and love to get good feedback from our customers.
